"If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to a man as it is, infinite. For man has closed himself up, ‘till he sees all things thro’ narrow chinks of his cavern." William Blake

The majority of visitors are already familiar with Prostoria, and those who are not have shown enthusiasm for the new, fresh and innovative ideas.
Prostoria is appearing in the Tortona Zone for the second time, which along with city life also represents the soul of this famous and largest furniture event in the world. Both new and old collections in new colours are being exhibited within the theme of Shapes and Shadows. Prostoria has its own aficionados here who come and enjoy the new products. A fantastic week in Milan!
The Exhibition’s concept: Shapes of shadows - Tortona Zone
In Plato’s Allegory of the cave, people chained to the cave wall see only shadows and recognise these as the only reality. Are objects merely the shadows of their ideas? Can any project be good as its own idea? We believe that it is through a creative process using design and craft skills that ideas about objects come to life, and that the shadows complete each object’s form. It is our wish to explore whether a shadow can exist without the object that lends it its shape. Is there a shadowless shape which gives it its form? We have exhibited our products (objects) in order for the viewer to be able to experience its metamorphosis through a play of shadows. Each object is multifaceted and these faces are hidden from the shadows or completely stripped, waiting to be discovered by the user.
